Semiclassical resolvent estimates for Schrödinger operators with Coulomb singularities
Consider the Schrödinger operator with semiclassical parameter h, in the limit where h goes to zero. When the involved long-range potential is smooth, it is well known that the boundary values of the operator’s resolvent at a positive energy λ are bounded by O(h−1) if and only if the associated Hamilton flow is non-trapping at energy λ. In the present paper, we extend this result to the case wh...
متن کاملEdge currents and eigenvalue estimates for magnetic barrier Schrödinger operators
We study two-dimensional magnetic Schrödinger operators with a magnetic field that is equal to b > 0 for x > 0 and −b for x < 0. This magnetic Schrödinger operator exhibits a magnetic barrier at x = 0. The unperturbed system is invariant with respect to translations in the ydirection. As a result, the Schrödinger operator admits a direct integral decomposition. We analyze the band functions of ...
متن کاملSmoothing Estimates for Evolution Equations via Canonical Transforms and Comparison
The paper describes a new approach to global smoothing problems for dispersive and non-dispersive evolution equations based on the global canonical transforms and the underlying global microlocal analysis. For this purpose, the Egorov-type theorem is established with canonical transformations in the form of a class of Fourier integral operators, and their weighted L–boundedness properties are d...
متن کاملMaximum-norm Stability, Smoothing and Resolvent Estimates for Parabolic Finite Element Equations
We survey work on stability and smoothing estimates in maximum-norm for spatially semidiscrete finite element approximations of a model parabolic equation, and related such estimates for the resolvent of the corresponding discrete elliptic operator. We end with a short discussion of stability of fully discrete time stepping methods. Résumé. Nous présentons un bilan des résultats sur la stabilit...
متن کاملA ug 2 00 6 STRICHARTZ AND SMOOTHING ESTIMATES FOR SCHRÖDINGER OPERATORS WITH LARGE MAGNETIC POTENTIALS IN
We show that the time evolution of the operator H = −∆ + i(A · ∇ + ∇ · A) + V in R 3 satisfies global Strichartz and smoothing estimates under suitable smoothness and decay assumptions on A and V but without any small-ness assumptions. We require that zero energy is neither an eigenvalue nor a resonance.
